Ohio State Spring Game

| April 20, 2012 | 0 Comments

With The Ohio State University spring game right around the corner, I am left pondering what type of team we will field next year, how the recruiting classes will shape up and when all the haters can stop hating.
First and foremost is the game, Scarlet vs. Gray.
For Ohio State Fans, this will be the first take of what the finished product could look like this year.
A few questions I am sure many fans are asking themselves and so am I. Just how fast will the offensive tempo be? How aggressive and ball-hawkish will our secondary be? How will the RB’s be used and bigger yet, just who do we have on the current roster that can classify as a playmaker?
Either way, this game is bound to only breed the enthusiasm from within one of the most proudest fan bases in all of college sports. Regardless of the fact that we aren’t eligible for any postseason, who cares, I would clearly settle for kicking the B1G around the corner, especially the team up north and of course land a few prized recruits.
With recruits like Cameron Burrows (CB), Jalin Marshall (ATH), Billy Price (DT), Eli Woodard (CB), Evan Lisle (OL), Ezekiel Elliot (RB), Jayme Thompson (S), Marcus Baugh (TE), Tracy Sprinkle (DE) and J.T. Barrett (QB) already on board, the wagon is surely filling up.
So this game could be the moment that we land a few more recruits and further solidify an already sterling class for 2013.
Some names to keep on the back burner as possible commitments with already strong Ohio State leans are Jaylon Smith, Mike Heuerman (TE), Alex Anzalone (LB), Joey Bosa (DE), James Quick (WR) and Tim Kimbrough (LB). The best part are the recruits who fly in from no where and decide to jump board. Should be a fun ride, as for the haters, it’s interesting all the bad press coming out about Urban. Everyone hates a winner, we as Ohio State Fans should be used to it.

Joshua McWilliams

About Joshua McWilliams: Josh McWilliams is often the voice at the other end of The Daily Record sports phone, with whom many coaches speak to when calling in scores. He records game information, writes them up as brief summaries and tends to add his own flavor. McWilliams started at The DR in August, 2002 with a tryout story about players coming out of the mist, then went to being the staff whipping boy who wore a cheerleader outfit and Joe Gantz’s helmet for some photo opp time. In his full-time time job, McWilliams works as a store manager for the Goodwill store in Millersburg. “What can I say, we have great deals,” he said. “Anyway, I love sports, always have, graduated from Central Christian, live in Shreve, hold no allegiance to any school and am very opinionated. The sports I love are football, basketball, baseball and I have to admit a small part of my heart likes soccer, thanks to good man Bryan Schaaf, who showed me the ropes.” Josh can reached at josh85224@gmail.com or follow me on twitter, josh_mc1982.
